Scheila Lattaro, owner and technical director of the company, decided to take the plunge a few years ago. After obtaining a degree in biochemistry, professional training, after having worked for several years in a pharmaceutical company first, and then in a herbalist laboratory, she decided to completely change her life and transform a great passion into a job opportunity more in keeping with her ethical standards.<\/p>\n

Herba Sapiens is an artisan phytocosmetic laboratory, i.e. a cosmetic laboratory that uses medicinal plants from wild harvesting or organic cultivation as the primary ingredient, following strictly natural and artisanal methods. The plants are harvested by hand in places far away from city pollution, at their balsamic time, respecting their natural habitat, and therefore, used for the creation of very delicate, safe and effective natural cosmetics that our brand can offer to you.<\/p>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Our work, as many people say, is \"work of the past\": painstaking work, that demands great patience to search for the most suitable place to harvest plants; work based on respect for Nature and its seasonal cycles, on great love for plants, which requires the continuous study of their potential and their limits; the work of artisans who follow every stage in the making of their product: from the cosmetic's formulation, to its production, packaging, labelling and even shipping, convinced that craftsmanship guarantees, no matter what, a superior quality to the use of any means of mechanization. The harvest<\/span><\/h2>\n
It all starts here. Many of our products have as primary ingredients one or more plant extracts obtained from fresh plants harvested by hand and carefully, in their natural habitat. The harvest is done in uncontaminated places, far from the cities and without smog, respecting the balsamic time of each plant, and during the period where we know it will contain the maximum concentration of active principles.<\/span>

The process<\/span><\/h2>\n
After harvesting the plants, we proceed to their CLEANING. This is followed by the MACERATION stage in which the freshly harvested plant is left to rest in a solvent to allow its active ingredients to extract. Then we proceed with the PRESSING: the plant is cold pressed in order to recover the precious liquid rich in active principles, which is finally subjected to FILTRATION in order to eliminate any remaining impurities.<\/span><\/h6>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The workshop<\/span><\/h2>\n
The plant extracts, obtained from the harvesting of fresh plants and their immediate processing, are used in our laboratory to obtain Herba Sapiens products. Example? Hypericum oil, characterized by an intense red colour and a very pleasant scent. Before including it in the production of one of our cosmetics, we check its quality and the complete absence of water, a delicate step that we do by hand with care.<\/span><\/h6>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
